there has been some interest recently about the moyle case, and how it may have set a precident in what became the society's disfellowshipping policy.
in july 1939, the chief legal counsel of the watchtower bible & tract society, olin r. moyle, resigned from his position in a protest over conditions at bethel and rutherford's mistreatment of workers.
he did not want to continue living under those conditions and he felt he could effect positive change for his brothers by taking such a stand.

i have been "lurking" for about four years now.. it was an incredibly weird experience just to look at a site like jwn or freeminds.
he came off very loving.. so, i decided that i would talk to one of my elders about the things i read.
if any of you have time to read this, thank you.
welcome
i was apologist for near 12 years before i came here and i freaked out when i did!
but for me, the kicker was 1919. either jesus chose them in 1919 or he didnt. their proof didnt add up...and they just admitted in a round about way with the change of the GB to be the FDS.
hang on coz its gunna be a bumpy ride!

so, there is a bit of a fight going on in our hall between our pioneer sisters and our magazine servant.
since the new magazines are boxed with two issues together, there is a bit of work to be done separating them.
our magazine servant stacked them on the counter as usual, right out of the box.
why on earth are they one inside the other anyway? Are they stapled or have they saved money by deleting that too?
good lord! It's like a comedy of errors up the back of the kingdom hall... are these sisters so subserviant they can't seperate the magazines and need a male to do it?
sad, so very, very sad

so far, available in english only... i guess there is a lead time for the interpreters.... this presents an opportunity for those who attend non-english congregations to ask their jw friends important questions on this subject, have them research the wt cd and then present this new light as a "possibility".... for example, you can ask them questions like:.
what would you say if i told you that the governing body no longer represents the annointed (a.k.a the fds)?what would you say if i told you that charles taze russell is no longer considered a part of the faithful & discreet slave?what would you say if i told you that, even though the publications say the fds started in 33, they have only been around for 94 years?i'm pretty sure you will be viewed as an apostate... until this news on the annual meeting shows up in their language.
just a thought.... .
Simple strategy
By only mentioning it in english, the west (in decline) get to jibber about it and maybe they lose a few. Most drink the koolaid.
By the time it get to say, africa (on the way up) it will be a case of "oh, yeah, thats old news..." fewer loses.
Canny bastards me thinks, know better than to make a global deal out of changes

random discussion today ended up in my wife mentioning when she saw halley's comet (1986?
) and all of a sudden i had a total recall moment!.
when it came by, rather than make the effort to watch it, i flippantly said "nah, i'll see it next time!".

bloody religion! Made me miss a once in a lifetime event!
I have to actually make 100 if i am to see it 'next time'

"thus, it is evident that those who passed away from the generation of 1914..... never passed away.
and so, brothers, we have proven that god's prophetic word is true...".
anyone want to contribute?
Yep, you gave em ideas...
can see it now:
Watchtower Oct 1 2014
They did not pass away.
2 Many opposers of Jehovah's mighty nation have been pointing to the year 2014 and previous statements made by the faithful and discreet slave through the pages of the Watchtower and claiming that false prohecies were uttered. While it is true that the majority of those who accepted jehovah's invitation to be his worshipers from the early part of the 20th century had fallen asleep in death during the 1980s, it is not true to say they "passed away'' for they are yet very much alive in the heavens. The greek word ?πνο περ?οδο often rendered as 'sleep period' or death state' can also be translated as 'in a blink of an eye' when we are able to apply it to those in jehovahs favour at the time of their last earthly breath.
Evidently, this translation better fits the facts surrounding the glorious transformation from one state of existance [human] to another [spirit] in that it occured in the 'blink of an eye'. So we can confidently say that those old time servants of the most high God did not pass away at all and that you faithful servants of Jehovah can confidently defend any accusations.
It is indeed further evidence of the ever unfolding light of truth from the Governing Body that they are able, with the Nethinim class, to dig deeper into long hidden meanings in the ancient greek texts and shine light in the last days of the last days.

i was thinking about some interracial jw couples that chose each other because they do not have alot of choices like finding someone in their own race in the religion, i have been seeing alot more jw interracial couples lately.
have you noticed them in your area?
don't get me wrong.
uhh don't the JWs now have an interracial couple GB member?
Geoffrey and Rae...at least according to the picture...

i know about johnathan edwards and william miller being some of the forerunners of the wtbts.
how about much earlier in time?
was there a group during the middle ages or even earlier that preached something similar to the wt doctrine?
And all that preceeds my post only reinforces my belief that the bible is not the inspired word of any god, and is certainly the concoction of men who sought to enslave the world one brain at a time.
They did a damn good job of it too...The beginners of the work would be suitably impressed i imagine...

my wife spent all morning long preparing this super thanksgiving banquet.
with a huge turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce.
and greenbeen salad, pie and icecream.. yummy!.
The real test for the WTBTS would come if they announced from the platform exactly how it works with the RBC...
whether it is legal is one thing, whether it is moral is a completely different thing.

i'm sure someone here has experienced this before.
please help me help my son.
his wife of 15 months told him last night that she needs her space, that what she wanted 1 year ago isn't the same as what she wants now.
I beleive everyone has the right to change their mind, to move on.
My wife and I made a pact way back when we were first serious, and it is an unspoken knowledge between us even now 6 years later, that if one of us ever becomes unhappy, or wants something else that they say so. We know this would be awful but honest, and the other is to give full blessing to the other. That does not mean there will be no tears or heartbreak either, it just means that sometimes the gig is up.
True love will let another go if it means that one will be happier.
The stay away while i 'sort it out' is a dead giveaway though. Not of another involved nessicarily. In my own case with marriage #1, i moved out to sort myself out, never went back and broke her heart, but there was no other woman involved.
Just be there for your son. As a well known song (Gilbert Osullivan) said "nothing worse than being in love with one who isnt"
all the best in helping your son
